Asia-Oceania Nations Explore Multi-GNSS Demonstration Campaign for Asia. [GNSS SIGNALS exclusive] As the Japanese Space Agency (JAXA) looks forward to its first QZSS launch this summer, it's also spearheading a five-year pilot project to share data and resources for a multi-GNSS monitoring network and to promote application development in the Asia-Pacific countries. Russian Company Offers 'Preliminary' Specifications for GLONASS CDMA Signal. Manufacturers are encouraged to experiment with the GLONASS-K satellite demonstration signal, due for flight-testing later this year. The invitation was issued by RSS, a consortium of 10 Russian government agencies and private companies that have been combined into a single joint stock company led by the former Russian Institute of Space Device Engineering. EC Outlines GNSS Applications Action Plan. In a plea for €362 million more for Galileo, the European Commission outlined a GNSS applications action plan on June 14. The additional money would support GNSS user equipment and application market development over the next four years. (more)

China Begins Broadcasts on Latest Compass GNSS GEO Satellite. China has begun transmitting signals on three frequencies from the Compass G3 satellite launched into geostationary orbit (GEO) on June 2. (more)
