DACC Spirt Week October 3rd through October 7th

One of DACC's most popular activities is "Spirit Week"!

Every day students are in attendance, they will receive a raffle ticket.   We round off "Spirit Week" by pulling student's raffle tickets for fabulous prizes!

Why is "Spirit Week" so much fun for students and staff?
Each day has a dress-up theme; however, dressing up is not necessary to receive a raffle ticket.

Our Spirit Week Themes Are:

MONDAY - TWIN DAY

Two DACC student dress like a pair

TUESDAY - SPORTS TEAM DAY

Pick your favorite team jersey; no hats please.

WEDNESDAY - GRANDMA'S/GRANDPA'S OLD SWEATER DAY  Got an old ugly sweater?

THURSDAY - PLAID DAY

Wear your best apparel in all plaid

FRIDAY - HOME SCHOOL SPIRIT DAY

Show your home school pride! Wear something representing your home school; no hats please.

Don't miss out on the fun of spirit week!  Attendance each day will bring great rewards - more raffle tickets!

Thank you for your parternership in encouraging your students to attend school regularly.

 Interim Reports Coming Soon!

It is hard to believe, but DACC students are just about half way through the first marking period of the 2011-2012 school year. The official interim date is Wednesday, September 28, 2011.

By now, parents and their students should have received a login and password for the DACC student grade and attendance viewer, commonly known as PowerSchool.  This resource provides families with up-to-date information about student progress, and it may be accessed on-line through the DACC website.  A letter has been mailed to each home containing student and parent access information. Also, students have been provided a label, to be placed within the student daily agenda, for easy reference.

As PowerSchool student information is available daily, only students earning "D" or "F" grades at interim will receive a print copy of the interim progress report mailed to the home.

Should parents need login and password information or have questions about interim reports, we ask that they call the Student Services area at North or South campuses to gain that information.

New South Campus Drive Due to Open 9-27

As you can see the construction company has been working on the new entrance for DACC South Campus. In the very near future this new drive will be open and we would like to inform you of the changes this will cause. There will be a few steps to this new drive opening which are outlined below.

Step #1 - The new drive is tentatively scheduled to open for traffic on Tuesday, September 27th. All students, staff and visitors are asked to use this entrance and eliminate your use of the current entrance off Route 23. This will be critical as the "old" entrance will close for construction after the new entrance opens.

Step #2 - Once all the construction on both entrances is completed, we would like to have all inbound traffic enter via the "old" entrance. The plan is to have all traffic exit via the new entrance. This will allow traffic to flow, especially during the heavy traffic flow times of the day. (FYI- The "old" entrance will only allow right turn in, right turn out and left turn in once completed).

Thank you for your patience in this process.  We will continue to update you and also evaluate traffic flow to make the new entrance work to serve all our staff and guests!!  www.DelawareAreaCC.org
