START/Rotary Interact Prepares for Leaf Pick-Up |
It's that time again! The leaves are falling and it's time to start bagging them up.
The START students are selling "Leaf Bag Pick-Up" labels that you can buy for $1.00 each and put on any bag of leaves (up to 60 gallons).
START will be picking up leaf bags each Saturday in November. If you would like them to pick up your leaf bags, simply put the labels on your bags, schedule a pick-up, and be sure to have the bags tied and ready at the end of your driveway by 8 a.m. on the day of pick-up.
Labels are available through START students or at the Depot through the months of October and November. Call the Chamber of Commerce at 885-8166 to schedule a pick-up. |

The Chamber is located at 200 South Main Street and is open Monday thru Friday 8 to 4:30 pm. You may call ahead at 885-8166 and the Chamber staff would be happy to get the gift certificates made for you so there is no waiting when you are ready to pick them up. Economic Development Facts |
Everywhere you go people are talking about the economy, unemployment and many other financial matters. Recently the average wage information for the state of Missouri was released and Henry County is "bucking the trend" of the state of Missouri.
The average wage for the state of Missouri in 2009 was $40,710. This year is it $40,168, showing the state average is down $542. But Henry County has done just the opposite. In 2009 the average wage was $27,855 and 2010 it was $28,870. Henry County was up $1015, making an average differential of $1,557 based on the state vs. the county averages. Numerous other counties in the state had a decrease, which shows we are weathering the storm better then most. |

Chamber Dues |
It's hard to believe that 2010 is almost over and 2011 is right around the corner! That means its time to be thinking about Chamber membership dues. The letters will be in the mail the second week of November.
You'll notice this year's letter is in a new format that will provide us with more accurate information about your business. Please fill it out with all of your updated information and return the information to us so we can update the directory with necessary changes.
The current dues structure was adopted in 2004. |
