Everyone present was urged to contribute ideas for changes and/or additions to the plan before its finalization by Sept. 1. Following the presentation of the plan, time was allotted for comments from the audience. Thanks to all who took time to attend this very important meeting. |

Swap Meet & Cruise Night |
Despite a rain storm in the afternoon, we had a great first year for Swap Meet and Cruise Night. Twelve vendors checked in and set up on the Square. Most had customers as soon as they were ready and stayed busy until the sky clouded up. After the rain, people began milling around again and the vendors did business until the end of Cruise Night at 8 p.m. By request, we are already planning for expanding the Swap Meet for next year with a "Women's Alley." The sky cleared and cars and drivers began arriving at 5 p.m. There were a lot of spectators because it turned out to be a beautiful evening. Special thanks go to our sponsors, Edward Jones, Dennis Sieger and Kreisler Drug Stores. Sponsors enable us to continue to have free Cruise Nights for drivers and spectators. Award winners were Favorite Car, Michael Roberts from Lowry City with a 1969 Camaro; Favorite Motorcycle, Bill Roberts (Michael's dad!) from Lowry City with a 1948 Indian Chief Motorcycle; Favorite Ride, Chuck Roberts (no relationship!) from Clinton with a 1969 Firebird; and Sponsor's Choice went to Wayne Schroeder of Warsaw with a 1966 Mustang. Door Prizes of $100, Craftsman Socket Set, Craftsman Cordless Drill and a pair of Lawn Chairs were drawn from the drivers that registered. |
