Spring is 22 Days Away

Are we ready for Spring yet?   We are, we are!

We have a wonderful spring planned for 2012. The birds are chirping, the grounds are thawing out and the doggies are ready for Spring Training.

Our Healin' News will get our canine buddies ready for those aches and pains of training with Canine Massage. Don't we wish we were so lucky?

And we're getting ready for those great rides to the beach with Fido in our Car Safety Report. If your Fido is out and about in your world, check out this article.

We are pleased to annonouce that kona's touch, inc. is now offering Reiki for Companion Animals as part of our services. We look forward to offering this new modality.

Enjoy,

Be gentle, after all isn't that what you would want for your best friend,

Car Safety: To Buckle or Not To Buckle.....?

To buckle or crate or just let ride....   Here are the choices and options  you can make the best decision.

Whether it's crates, seat harnesses or car seats, the most important aspect of safety is control. Even if the car is not moving, being able to contain your dogs inside the car can be an important piece of the pie. This is true whether you are going three blocks or three thousand miles.

For over 20 years my canine family has been traveling. Most of my dogs have peed in two oceans. I have driven with one dog, two dogs and three dogs, small dogs, big dogs, and medium size dogs. We've had cars, vans and SUVs. We've had dogs loose in the back, crates, harnesses, seats, no seats, and a lot of training techniques trying to make them all work.

A Little To The Left, Please: Canine Massage

When we moved temporarily to the west coast in 2003 with our handsome aging 13 yr. old Lab, he lucked out in the canine world of healing. We were close to a Canine Rehab Hydrotherapy Center which had small workout pools for dogs. Lhotse' Massage with JoyceBo had been an awesome athlete all of his life and he was slowing down and showing some signs of having too much fun. We decided to take him in for some hydrotherapy and he took to it like a Labrador to water. A very sweet, talented therapist moved him gently through a pool with warmer water than a regular swimming pool. It was very helpful for Bo and he loved his therapist and bounded into the building every Tuesday morning at 10:30 sharp. When the center moved, his therapist came to the house and continued massage for our aging, stiff boy.

Jump up 8 years and the photo above shows Lhotse' receiving her first massage. Lhotse' had a very difficult first year or so before she came to her fur-ever home and she still has residual physical issues that cause some discomfort. Also she's an absolute lunatic when it comes to play, so she finds herself with all sorts of aches and pains throughout the day.

Whatever your needs and interests, there are so many options for a canine guardian to choose to help their pets feel better.
