Bible Study with Ruthie
Several of the students from the Wesley discipleship team stayed for dinner and fellowship at the Dennison house after their most recent meeting. All of  the students enjoy getting to see Ruthie Dennison as much as possible.
Dear Friends,

This coming Monday marks the beginning of Spring Break for all of our students. As we look forward to this time away from the students, we also pause to reflect on a few exciting things that have been going on in our ministry over the past month:

1.    Connectionalism at Work in Campus Ministry
2.    3rd Annual Bedlam Bash
3.    Lenten Bible Study
4.    85 Young People Attend Spring Retreat

Campus Ministry
On Saturday, February 27 we took a dozen students to Purcell, Oklahoma to help with Ice Storm cleanup and recovery. Trinity UMC in Purcell has been working closely with the state Volunteers in Mission office to coordinate groups and clean-up efforts across this region.

Our students worked hard to help five different families (who weren't physically able to help themselves) remove several tons of tree limbs and debris in their yards from the most recent ice storm. It was inspiring to see the connectionalism of our denomination at work between VIM, Trinity UMC, and the OU Wesley to help the city of Purcell.
3rd Annual Bedlam BashBedlam

This past Sunday we hosted 325 United Methodist youth and sponsors for the OU/OSU Women's Basketball game! The OSU Wesley Foundation worked with us to put on a wonderful afternoon of fellowship and worship for students all over the state. We shared with them the importance of getting involved in campus ministry when they head off to college in a few years. It was a great day of food, fellowship, worship, and basketball!
Lenten Bible Study BeginsLent

Small GroupThough most of our Bible studies and small groups began in early February, our associate director, Janey Wilson, and Catherine Carson (wife of Rev. Allen Carson of Bridgeview UMC) recently began a Lenten lunchtime Bible study on Adam Hamilton's Book 24 Hours that Changed the World.

While many of our Methodist churches across the country are studying from this book and hearing sermons preached from this series, many of our students are joining in by participating in this 6 week study at the Wesley. They meet each Wednesday for lunch to study a different story about Jesus' final 24 hours on earth.

85 young people attend Spring RetreatSpringRetreat

We had a great group of young people attend the annual spring retreat at Crosspoint Camp February 19-21. These students gave of their time and money to spend the weekend away from homework and distractions to fellowship with one another, worship, and grow deeper in their relationship with Christ.

We were blessed to have Rev. DA Bennett spend the weekend with us and preach four times on character and authenticity in the Christian Faith.

Our students spent the weekend worshipping, sharing and praying together in small groups, playing games, and fellowshipping and building relationships.
