Merry Christmas from Janey, Diana, Taylor, Fuxia and Daniel (clockwise)!!

Dear Friends,
One of the things many of our students look forward to every
year is our annual Christmas worship service. This past Tuesday night was our
Christmas Vespers service, and we had nearly 200 students in attendance! The
Wesley choir sang, the dance troupe performed, the praise band led us in
wonderful Christmas music, we commissioned our Costa Rica mission team leaving
in just a few short weeks, and each student spent time at the altar reflecting
on what commitment they would make to God this Christmas season. It was a
wonderful evening of worship and fellowship. |

The month of December in campus ministry is a time
for encouraging and challenging students to persevere to the end of the
semester. It's a time to plan and prepare for the spring semester. It's a time
to clean the building and get organized after a long semester; and it's also a
time to take some time off to relax and recharge for the next grueling four
months. In addition to these things, it's a time to reflect on the past year's
successes and celebrate the work God is doing in the midst of our ministry. As
a supporter of our ministry through your thoughts, prayers and financial gifts
I hope you will pause to celebrate some of the many successes of 2009:
· We led an international mission trip to Honduras that included the NSU and ECU Wesley Foundations. These two schools are now taking their own self-sustained mission trip to Honduras next month!
· We organized a jurisdictional wide retreat for college students reaching 11 different ministries, 3 different states, and over 150 different college students.
· Our students raised over $27,000 for the following missions and agencies: The United Methodist Church of Honduras, Oklahoma Boys Ranch, American Cancer Society, International Justice Mission, Living Water International, Invisible Children, and Skyline Urban Ministry.
· We reached out and connected with over 750 youth and United Methodists through the Bedlam Bash (hosted by OU and OSU Wesley Foundations), Methodist Day at the Redhawks, and high school senior night at Vespers.
· We hosted and served lunch to over 400 new international students at OU.
· Between myself, the staff, the praise band, and the choir we preached, led worship, shared personal testimonies, and told the story of campus ministry to over 30 different United Methodist Churches
· We hosted 27 different small groups and Bible studies.
· We had over 500 different students involved in either worship or small groups.
· We had nearly 200 different students involved in a discipleship building small group.
· Over 400 different students celebrated Holy Communion in worship throughout the year.
It truly has been a blessed year, and we certainly could not have done it without your support. I hope as you celebrate some of these wonderful accomplishments with us that you will consider making a year-end gift to our ministry. Every dollar that we earn enables us to makes disciples for Jesus Christ on the OU campus and train up a younger generation of leaders for God's Kingdom. Please help us finish 2009 strong and push us toward an even stronger 2010! On behalf of the entire staff and student body at the OU Wesley, THANK YOU and MERRY CHRISTMAS!
