The Follow Building Machines Tour

The NeXus
1414 Harbour Way South #1010
Thursday, August 16th
7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Building Machines To Reach The Stars is the new release from The Follow. Influenced by U2, Radiohead, and Pink Floyd, The Follow have enjoyed sharing stages with various artists such as Plain White T's, Billy Corgan's Zwan & Gravity Kills. With seven albums, one DVD, and hundreds of live performances, The Follow received airplay on college and commercial radio across North America while supporting the releases by touring in the United States and Europe. The trio is excited about this new thematic album and the journey each new release brings.
The band entered the virtual world of Second Life (SL) as way to continue touring while protecting the environment, not to mention their wallets! The band members drive a Honda Insight hybrid to the broadcast location, they use energy-efficient LED lights for the show environment, and most distribution to national and international radio & press is accomplished digitally eliminating plastic CDs, paper envelopes, and transportation resources. The Follow enjoys crowds of over 100 humans as avatars at many of the online shows; some featuring multi-camera video broadcasts.
Its accessible brand of radio-friendly rock and amazing live shows placed The Follow on the fast track to success inside the virtual world. The trio created a day-long World Tour In A Day event providing a means to promote the possibilities of this new medium. The band plays FIVE shows in FIVE countries in ONE day all without leaving its broadcast studio.

The Frquency Shift presents **Sonic Enchantment_**__Sound Baths
...where sound technoogy & ancient sound healing merge.
Please bring your friends, family and anyone who is just a bit curious about sound healing!
It's recommended to get there early to get a good space. Please bring a yoga mat, blanket, cushion, water and eye covering/mask.
In the atmosphere of beautiful Buddhas, (Buddhas By The Bay Gallery) we will dive into the ocean and journey underwater with dolphins and up into the cosmos with planetary sounds of the Music of the Spheres and then bring you gently back to earth with sounds of the rainforest, exotic birds, and more!
The frequencies of the Zobet (solfeggio) are major keys for humanity at this time as they help us rebalance on every level, lifting our mood, activating our DNA, tuning us more deeply into our body, the Earth, and our connection to the Divine. So if you'd like to de-stress from your day, feel the oneness within, come join us on this healing journey and be surrounded with divinely-tuned nature's very own solfeggio crystal bowls, tubular bells, ethereal wind chimes, special alchemically-created tuning forks, and sacred sound recordings of shimmering copper xylophone merged with the sounds of nature, the planets, 111Hz gong, divine cosmic gongs, outer space, water drums, with live shamanic drums, voices and percussion in a sacred space to calm, nurture and re-energize. These group experiences are called "Sound baths" because you are completely surrounded/bathed in sound, while remaining fully clothed, laying on the floor. These sound baths also work with the ancient sacred geometry of the Flower of Life as a potent transformational tool to enable you to release old patterns, create new ones and "shed" energetic debris. 111Hz is one of the main key frequencies of the solfeggio and this will be played in many forms via solfeggio instruments. 111Hz tunes us into the energy of our divine self and is also stimulates endorphins so can help uplift your mood and help your body more deeply unify with the Oneness of everything!

Forgotten Fragments: Art Made from Overlooked Materials
| |
NIAD
551 23rd Street
Gallery Hours 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Ink, paint and clay are conventional art materials. They're easy to acquire and put into immediate action with the right tools. Torn paper bags, outdated newspapers and scraps of bamboo require a bit more forethought, especially when creating sculpture. NIAD artists have been recycling these types of materials into artwork for several months while working with instructor Ruben Guzman, who encouraged them to simply play with materials until something interesting happened. Forgotten Fragments will feature the results of their experimentation in show of abstract and figurative sculpture.
