Songwriter/satirist Roy Zimmermann
Some people say that Roy is the funniest songwriter alive; he is an amazing performer. His deft use of language, ability to spot a good target, brilliant use of musical and melodic devices, and well-planned delivery make for the best musical satire since the great Tom Lehrer. Roy has more than 5 million views on YouTube & is somewhat controversial, as he leans a bit to the left - taking aim at the hypocritical right - people like Dick Cheney, Dick Armey, George W Bush, Ted Haggerty, Sarah Palin. So be warned: if you're a fan of Fox News, Roy may light your fuse!
Hassan El-Tayyab opens the show. Originally from Boston, El-Tayyab has distinguished himself as one of the brightest new lights on the Bay Area music scene

by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa;
directed by Patricia Inabnet
Our 2011 Season kicks off with this celebration of the uncanny: Two intertwined one act plays in the style of Hitchcock and The Twilight Zone begin our season. In the first play, a director of horror films survives a terrible train wreck only to be haunted by the ghost of one of the passengers who didn't survive. In the second, Abby and Joe travel to a small town in rural Oregon to make peace with the man who murdered her parents and younger sister. The Mystery Plays wrestle with the most profound of human ideas: the mysteries of death, the afterlife, religion, faith, and forgiveness. |

Arts of Point Richmond Winter Post Office Exhibit

Point Richmond Post Office Washington Avenue
Bette Tarr
"I am lucky enough to be living in Point Richmond at the time of retirement. At which time I took up art as a hobby. My focus is on digital art, traditional painting and drawing. Thank you Arts of Point Richmond for giving our members a chance to participate."
liza Allan
"When my 3 children were young and I needed time away from the house, I went to a San Francisco Parks & Recreation ceramic class & got "hooked" on the potter's wheel. I love to make functional pieces as well as making a form on the wheel, taking it from the wheel & then "altering" it. Without finding my ability to express myself creatively, my childhood could have become unfulfilled. Without art, I could not have educated myself in other ways."
