Public Enemy Number One-FOG!!
| Fats, Oils and Grease-known collectively as FOG-represent the most serious enemy of our public sewer lines. When FOG is dumped down the drain, it goes straight into our sewers and forms large, thick grease balls that clog the pipes.
Clogged pipes can result in spills, creating environmental problems, traffic tie-ups, or even flooded businesses. Read more in this brochure. |

Tone Poem with Hang Drum
| |
Bridge ArtSpace 23 Maine Ave Sunday, December 12th 3:00 pm
"Tone Poem With Hang Drum" is produced and directed by Eve A. Ma through Palomino Productions (an East Bay media production company). It features Liron Mann (hang drum), Pilar Yamuza (actress) and others. Filmed in southern Spain, this 20-min. experimental short is a truly international production: the composer/musician is Israeli, the lead actress and sound crew is Spanish and the supporting actress and producer/director are from the United States. We will screen the short two times. In honor of the filming location (Jerez de la Frontera, known as the "cradle of flamenco"), as part of the event there will be a short flamenco performance between the two screenings. We'll also hold a Q&A session with the filmmaker. Refreshments will be served.
PALOMINO Productions is led by Eve A. Ma, an award-winning cinematographer and our principal producer-director. Ma founded the company in 2004 and has produced & directed nearly 30 shows, several of which have aired over PBS stations. Her videos have also screened in three countries (USA, Spain and Greece) and have been in festivals in two (USA and Spain). Ma began her work in cinematography after several earlier careers (history professor, practicing lawyer, non-profit administrator). In these earlier careers, she was often known by her more formal name, Dr. L. Eve Armentrout Ma, Esq.. She is listed in Who's Who in the World, and other prestigous biographical works. The company has an associate producer-director in Spain, Antonio de la Malena, who is working with Eve A Ma and PALOMINO Productions on a film, "The Price of a Piece of Chocolate." He has also produced his own short which screened in a festival in Spain, and has collaborated with Ma on other work. In addition to cinematography, he is a very well known flamenco cantaor (singer), and in has directed prize winning stage productions. |

In this musical comedy, six young people in the throes of puberty learn that winning isn't everything and that losing doesn't necessarily make you a loser. It is the unlikeliest of hit musicals about the unlikeliest of heroes: a quirky yet charming cast of outsiders for whom a spelling bee is the one place where they can stand out and fit in at the same time.
NOTE: Before every performance, four audience volunteers are recruited to participate on stage as guest spellers. Each new foursome guarantees a new set of hilarious and unexpected experiences - each night is unique!
