Important Message from Our Law Enforcement Friends
| |
This is new and just for clarification:
NOW WITHIN WEST CONTRA COSTA COUNTY WHEN YOU CALL 911 FROM YOUR MOBILE PHONE AND AGAIN, ONLY IF YOU ARE WITHIN WEST CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, YOUR CALL IS NOW IMMEDIATELY DIRECTED TO THE LOCAL POLICE OR SHERIFF DISPATCH CENTER.
Important: If your mobile phone is equipped with G.P.S., your call to 9-1-1 is much more accurate and it will connect with the local law enforcement agency from where you are calling.
If your phone is not equipped with the G.P.S. technology, then your call is directed to the nearest cell tower which may or may not be accurate as far as connecting you with that local law enforcement agency. Local is based on your actual physical location at the time of your call within west Contra Costa County.

Peter Case, Folk/blues troubadour
| Point Richmond Acoustic First United Methodist Church of Richmond 201 Martina St. (at W. Richmond Ave.) Friday, December 3rd 8:00pm $15.00
Peter Case is the real deal. We first caught him way back in the days of New Wave rock bands, when Peter was the principal writer and lead singer for the Plimsouls, one of the best bands to emanate from Los Angeles in the early 1980s. But Peters achievements as a solo artist are even more noteworthy.
Signed to Geffen Records, Peter could have followed the well worn path of major label rock star, but instead, struck out on his own, with just a acoustic guitar and a suitcase traveling the road of the folk/blues troubadour. In the intervening years, Peter has recorded an array of compelling CDs.
Like many a great songwriter, Peter writes in a number of styles. He says "I tell people now I play folk-rock, & they seem to understand ...but the whole truth is more complex: I'm a singer/ songwriter that uses all the American styles to get my stories across : Blues. Rock.nRoll. Country. Soul. R&B ...& Folk..plus some rhythmic influences from around the world. I'm trying to forge my own style out of those inherited materials...I've always been into dynamic emotionally charged music you could use to tell a story or paint a picture.
