This month I will review the reliability of "allergy" testing in dogs.  If you are going to recommend allergy testing to clients, you should understand their limitations.  The topics I have planned for the coming weeks are: Intradermal testing reliability ... Continue reading →...»

Allergen-specific immunotherapy (ASIT) is often discussed as though it represents a uniform treatment option.  In fact, the process of customizing an allergen prescription for a pet is not standardized and there is a great deal of subjectivity involved, even when ... Continue reading →...»

Greetings!

Thanks for checking out the SkinVet Newsletter!  The information in this Newsletter is written with veterinary professionals in mind. This month focuses on the new RESPIT web site, www.vetrespit.com, but that site contains a lot of useful aids, whether you prescribe RESPIT or not.  Also, check in with my blog at www.skinvet.wordpress.com and follow @VetDerm on Twitter. If you find the information useful, please forward this email Newletter to several of your colleagues!

Online ordering is now available

With the launch of RESPIT Oromucosal Spray, we have completely updated our web site, www.VetRespit.com and added a secure online shopping site, www.SkinVetProducts.com. The order pages on VetRespit.com give you the option of calling our toll free number or to enter the secure site.VetRespit home page

We've added more information under the Learn More section, including pages on RESPIT Oromucosal Spray and RESPIT Injectable. You may also want to check out the Resources page. There you'll find a number of useful practice aids. There is a checklist to guide the diagnosis of canine atopic dermatitis, a pruritus grading scale, and a new atopic dermatitis lesion scoring scale that I developed. I'll be presenting the validation study at the World Congress of Veterinary Dermatology in Vancouver B.C. next month.

We've hopefully made a few other things easier to find: the Immunotherapy 101 handout is on the Resources page, and a link to a pdf of the client brochure is near the bottom of the new Pet Parents page.

To order online through  www.SkinVetProducts.com, current RESPIT customers need to first contact us to activate their account. If you haven't ordered with us before, you can set up an account through the web site and we will activate it after verifying the information you submit. Online ordering still gives you the option of "net 30" terms - just select "check by mail" as the payment method.
