Energy Efficiency

At work or at home, using power effectively can save you hundreds of dollars every year.  Here are a few smart decisions you can make:
  • Cut your energy bill by 15% using passive solar heat.  During the day, open shades and curtains to let the sun in if you're cold.  Shut them when your warm.
  • If you can fit a dollar in a crack, you're letting a dollar out.  Air sealing is the most inexpensive thing you can do to your home, office, or shop. Make it a priority before the cool weather sets in!

Worksite Wellness

Staying fit and active is an excellent way to maintain good health, lower stress, and improve your mood at home and at work.
  • Walking for twenty minutes a day can improve health and extend your life for ten years.  Bring out your RSBP pedometer and see how far it is to walk to work.
  • Sedentary lifestyles are the primary factor for over 200,000 deaths in the US alone.  Try walking or biking to work at least once per week. (USDA Study)

Overall Sustainability

Reducing, reusing, repairing, and recycling everything in your life are the concepts at the root of sustainability. Here are some things to remember next time you think green.

  • Don't forget the last Friday of every month is the RSBP free ride day on the Durango Transit!  Skip the hassle of driving and use your Road Runner Transit Pass!
  • Plastic debris kills over one million marine animals every year. Give the ocean a break and use your RSBP tote!
