Greetings!
As we roll into February, spring may seem to be right around the corner. However, we still have many days of snow and crisp cold air to come, which also means keeping our homes and businesses warm for a little longer.
It's not too late to weatherize your home, do an energy assessment, or upgrade appliances to ensure you're minimizing your energy heating and bills.
There are still Recharge Colorado rebates for energy efficient upgrades and Energy Star appliance purchases. Visit 4CORE and the Governors Energy Offices website Recharge Colorado for more information and helpful tips on how to ensure you're getting the best bang for the buck in energy use.

Newsletter Challenge Question
Challenge Question: How many heating degree days does Durango, Silverton, Cortez, and Pagosa Springs each have respectively?
What is a heating degree day? A heating degree day (HDD) is a measurement designed to reflect the demand for energy needed to heat a home or business. It is derived from measurements of outside air temperature. The heating requirements for a given structure at a specific location are considered to be directly proportional to the number of HDD at that location. A similar measurement, cooling degree day' (CDD), reflects the amount of energy used to cool a home or business.
Announcing the Winner and Award
The three people to correctly answer this question will win an energy saving prize from 4CORE. Prizes and winners to be announced in next months news letter. Send responses to elsa@fourcore.org by February 25th.
