Greetings!
Summer is upon us, and that means lots of projects around the house. While we're still waiting to hear about the solar rebates, why not work on insulation?
The
most basic thing you can do to reduce your energy use is to conserve. The next step up is to implement energy efficiency measures, such as install insulation to keep your house at a comfortable temperature. Read below about how you can get money back for insulating your home.
While you are at it, consider saving more money and energy by changing out your light bulbs with Compact Fluorescent Lights (CFLs). Come by the 4CORE office at 835 E. 2nd Avenue, room 230 in Durango to get your free CFL (while supplies last)! |

Top 5 Reasons to Insulate
Right now is the perfect time to insulate your home and here is why: #5 Don't wait until winter. Insulate now before the snow flies so insulation crews can work effectively on your home. #4 Decrease your impact on energy consumption. The less we use, the more we'll have later, and the less we pollute. #3 Keep cool for the rest of the summer and warmer this winter. Insulation can make your home significantly more comfortable. #2 Insulation can cut your energy bill by 20%. Save money when you heat and cool your home. #1 Receive up to $300 in rebates through Insulate Colorado and 4CORE. A local, approved, knowledgeable installer can be found by clicking here and scrolling down. Read more about the program or download the application.

Volunteer of the Quarter
It is always difficult to determine who should be recognized because we have many dedicated volunteers, but Heather Erb stands out with her donation of scores of hours as Co-Chair of the Climate and Energy Action Plan (CEAP) Residential,
Commercial and Industrial work group. Heather meets every due date,
prepares high quality and thorough work products, and participates in every Steering Committee meeting. She staffed the CEAP kick-off booth
during the Earth Day event, carefully explaining the process and
measures to interested citizens. She is also typically the first person to
offer assistance at events, including the August outreach sessions.
Heather will receive a certificate of recognition, t-shirt, and water bottle as our thanks to her.If you are interested in volunteering, please e-mail Teresa for more information.
