Turkey Trot Donates $15,625 to Local Charities

TRAVERSE CITY- At a volunteer party on Wednesday night, EverywhereUGO owners, Brian and Enid Hagerty, announced that $15,625 of the Turkey Trot proceeds would go to three local charities.

 

1209 participants completed the 5K run/walk on Thanksgiving morning. Nearly 110 volunteers assisted with the event contributing 615 hours of service to make the event happen.

 

As a result of the event sponsors, participants and volunteers, the local charities receiving the Turkey Trot bounty are: TART Trails in the amount of $5,338, the Grand Traverse Bay YMCA in the amount of $5,192 and the Traverse Bay Children's Advocacy Center in the amount of $5,095. In addition, Trinity Lutheran Food Pantry received a truck load of non-perishable goods as a result of the community-spirited event.
