CSC UPDATE!
Greetings!
Happy New Year!! Hope you had a great holiday and found lots of ski and snow shoe gear under your tree! 2010 is only a few days old and already it's shaping up to be a great year. Snow conditions are excellent and our nordic, downhill and snowshoe programs are in full swing. CSC has something for you whether you're one plank or two or prefer to snowshoe!
The buzz is just getting started as we lead up to CSC's "Black Diamond" 75th Anniversary in May 2010. We are starting to get a volunteer committee together to plan for this important milestone for Calgary's most experienced ski club. Stay tuned to CSC Update! for more information coming soon.
The CSC Holiday Party at La Casa D'Italia was a resounding success. The cosy oak paneled private dining room complete with
blazing fire set the stage for an entertaining evening full of laughter
and good cheer. CSC members enjoyed a delicious three course Italian dinner, fine wine and yummy deserts as we shared in the spirit of the Holiday season. Door prizes were awarded and a centre piece draw raised $200 for the Calgary Branch of the Canadian Disabled Skiers Association. Congratulations to all of the winners and thanks again for supporting such a worthy charity.

IT Report - Resources for Our Members
It's been just over 2 months since the club launched its new website. Hopefully most if not all of you have had a chance to sit down and explore everything the website has to offer. One of the main sections of the website is our Resources section, which offers tips and links for downhill skiing, hiking/snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
The Resources section is the second-most right menu, just to the left of Contact Us. The first four sections provide checklists on how to appropriately prepare for an activity, where one can ski or snowshoe in Calgary and Southern Alberta/BC, trail conditions, and links to other websites to help improve your technique. The Road & Weather Reports section provides links to weather and road reports, so you can safely prepare for that drive out to the slopes. The Useful Links section is a large collection of website links to other ski hills, stores, hotels, etc. And lastly the Website (IT) section provides monthly updates on the progress of the club's web project, a FAQ, and how to report a problem.
The Resources section is to help spread the collective skiing, hiking and snowshoeing knowledge among all club members. If you have something you would like to contribute to one of these pages, please contact either the appropriate club director or email it@calgaryskiclub.org with the suggested material you would like to see added to these pages.
Sincerely,
Mark Kudryk, IT Director
