Special Announcement

Dear Friends in Christ:

I am very pleased and deeply grateful to announce that St. Philip's has received a donor restricted gift of $15,000 from the Kautz Family Foundation through the generous advocacy of Mr. James Kautz. The sole purpose of this gift is to fund renovations in the Douglas Children's Center. A small task force of parents and other interested persons is working with Bruce Phillips, Director of Children and Family Ministries, to identify priority projects to which these funds will be directed and proceed with their implementation.

In addition, the 75th Anniversary Committee is designating $2250 of their remaining funds to be used for nursery renovations.

These gifts will benefit our children and their parents by providing them clean, safe, and up-to-date facilities and will benefit the parish as a whole through the renewed vitality that our children and families bring. We celebrate and give thanks for these commitments to the youngest of St. Philip's parishioners and to the ongoing vision, life, and ministry of this parish.

Faithfully yours,

John

The Reverend John E. Kitagawa, D. Min.
Rector

Deborah McCullough's Art

Deborah McCullough: Art and Activism on the Border
As an activist, Debbie McCullough is a volunteer with No More Deaths and Tucson Samaritans. As an artist Debbie uses objects left along migrant trails to create art that bridges the divide between the voiceless migrant and the viewer. Her work has been shown around the country, from Oklahoma to Maine, with the aim of encouraging viewers to look at the issue in a different light and to challenge them to ask: How far would you walk to feed your family? How far would you walk to be reunited with your children? 10:15 a.m. in La Paz.

The search committee has invited stellar musicians with strong but differing qualities in choral direction, pastoral focus, and spirituality. The committee feels that the church should experience these fine musicians and then help decide which is the best match for all of the current and longer-term missions of St Philip's. Therefore, your involvement and your feedback are vital. Comment sheets will be handed out at the Forum and the recital. Feel free to put your comments and impressions in writing to the Search Committee. You are a very important component in the process, so please let your voice be heard. Please send your comments to search.committee@stphilipstucson.org or give your comments to a member of the search committee, whose names will appear on the comment cards.

Thank You from Outreach Ministries

The Outreach Commission wishes to thank the 94 parishioners who generously contributed $7100 to the Children's Christmas Project. These funds will be distributed evenly between Imago Dei, Holaway, and Rio Vista Schools to be used for special needs of their students and families. These are all schools with which St. Philip's has a special relationship, and we thank you for your support.

The Border and Immigration Ministry wishes to thank all the generous members of St. Philips for their donations of sweatshirts and other related items. Our congregation heeded God's call to care for the strangers among us.
