As a writer for San Diego Pets Magazine I have been compiling resource lists for recent issues. I am impressed to find so many legitimate non-profit organizations devoted to helping people and their companion animals.
Walks for Love is one such organization. The brainchild of San Diego County resident, Anne Sardena, this labor of "Love" provides FREE dog walks to ANYONE unable to walk their dog for ANY reason. Service dogs assisting their disabled people, elderly, ill or those simply unable to keep up with this necessary activity are invited to contact Walks for Love for assistance.
Dog walking volunteers are wanted all over San Diego County! It's fun to walk dogs!

Ginger is having great results and is virtually FLEA FREE since starting Rosie's Remedies, Flea Free liquid food supplement a month ago.
Packed with nutrients and natural flea deterrents, including garlic and citrus it is a healthy alternative to the highly toxic spot on and ingested flea pesticide products supplied by veterinarians and some pet supply stores.
Although citrus can be toxic to cats, the company has assured me that the small amount found in their product is completely safe for them. I called on multiple ocassions and was given the same response each time. I was told that the minimal amount of citrus, garlic and other ingredients that in large doses may cause issues won't cause problems. The company has been around for years and I was told they have not had a single report of an issue from any dog or cat owners.
I am thrilled with this product! I add the specified amount daily to Ginger's food and drinking water. I still encourage vacuuming, flea combining and other natural, non-toxic approaches to stay on top of the San Diego flea challenge.
San Diego fleas are the Navy Seals of the insect kingdom, so we can use all the help we can get!
Fleabusters is a product that can be brushed into the carpet by consumers or mechanically applied by the Fleabusters company. I have had great luck with it when I used it before and have heard positive feedback from other users. Fleabusters guarantees their product when applied correctly for one full year. At that point reapplication will probably be needed.
Currently I am just using Rosie's Remedies and it is working great! Check out the links below.
