THE PUMPKIN DEADLINE

If I Only Had ONE Chance

to Tell You...

(is there a story that is yours to tell?)

If I Only Had One Chance to Tell You...
Encouraging and Inspiring Real Life Stories
(For people like you, by people like you.)

My friend, Sam McGhee (www.leadershipawakened.com) wrote to me twice last weekend.  (He didn't know that I was camping and not looking at my emails.)  This was the second email:

Hi Ana-Christina:

Is your May 31st deadline a hard one?

Let me know when I turn into a pumpkin.

Sam

So.  Here's the scoop:
I AM EXTENDING THE DEADLINE FOR STORY SUBMISSIONS FOR THE NEW BOOK.  JUNE 30, 2010

Click here for more details >>    **EXTENDED DEADLINE - If I Only Had One Chance to Tell You..." submission details - PDF

I know.  For some of you, that's good news, because you thought you missed it.

Some of you called and emailed and asked for more time, due to life circumstances.

For some of you, you just now sighed really big, because you were putting it off, and you know, down deep, it's something that you are really thinking about doing.  And now you have another chance.

Writing a story like this is impactful, powerful, and just a little bit scary.  It takes a lot of courage and humility.  And it takes a little time.

The PUMPKIN DEADLINE is now officially Wednesday, June 30, 2010.  This is the hard date where I need to make some decisions.  If we do not have enough story submissions, I will need to make another plan.  Please email me and let me know if you are intending to submit a story.

I have received 5 stories so far - THEY ARE AWESOME.  Another 5 people are telling me they are writing or are about to turn in their story.  I believe that I am supposed to carry this through - as I read the stories, I am encouraged that we will get enough writers to meet the minimum number that we would need to go to print.

IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY,
Please email or call me to let me know if you are thinking about writing a story!

Are you feeling SLUMPISH?

Slumpish?  Yeah.  That's a really good, made-up word.

I felt slumpish this spring.  So what does a motivational speaker do when she loses HER motivation?

Well, it happens.  If you've been in my workshops, we talk about the BIG things that happen, and also the hundreds of small things that pile up to get you down.

Situations and circumstances happen to ALL of us.

I had a hard spring this year.  Started in December, actually.  Just lost energy and had trouble moving forward with my plans and goals.

SO WHAT DOES A MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER DO WHEN SHE LOSES MOTIVATION??!!

Recognize the slump:
I do my best to recognize when that's happening so that I can make a choice about what to do about it.

Be ready, and WILLING, to receive the lesson:
I prayed for my heart to be open and soft in order to receive the lessons that were mine to learn.  I am aware of being grateful for the problems / issues because I know that I'm going to learn something important from them, if I'm WILLING.

Decide what steps to take:
Make sure they're small enough to be successful, and big enough to get you to move out of your comfort zone.
1)  I made several appointments with my extraordinary doctor / friend / counselor, Dr. Kim Schmidt (www.incarnationalhealing.com).
2)  I started doing some of the things that I wrote about in Tools of Hope.  I focused on being thankful (GRATITUDE), I signed up for some classes (DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT / SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO), and I breathed.  A lot.

Start taking the steps:
I have come to some amazing breakthroughs this spring that I wouldn't have learned otherwise.  I have finished my classes and gotten new insights.  I have done some different things and had a lot of fun doing it.

Celebrate your victories:
Some of my steps were little.  Some were bigger.  I have a few people on my speed-dial who I call with "triumph" calls.  They may seem like little baby steps - you might not even notice that I did anything different - but I know that I did.  The little steps get me to move.  They help me gain momentum.  They get me to grow.  When I keep taking steps, they get me to my goals.

If you're feeling "slumpish", decide what you're going to do with it.  Make a choice on how you're going to respond.

Our team was so impressed with your professionalism and method of delivery.  In fact, your insightful real life stories turned out to be the highlight of the training.  You were able to speak to our team in a language familiar to them and to provide them with the tips and techniques with which most everyone needs to be reminded.  Our team met shortly after the training and was energized and had an increased level of confidence in their ability to tackle every day stress!

I was present last night at your presentation. I want you to know what an impact you made on me!!  I am 60 years old and have attended motivational speeches before; but never have I come away from one feeling so sure of what I needed to do to change my heart and my life.

What is coaching?  Coaching is not therapy or counseling.  One analogy is:  "Therapy is like helping someone with a broken leg to walk again.  Coaching is helping them to run the four minute mile."  Tony Grant - Sydney University.

My Legacy Coaching, LLC - I help people to learn to live unregretted lives.

My passion is to give people the HOW tools to move and grow in direction of building the life they REALLY want.  I help people who are feeling stuck.

Instead of just surviving or "hanging in there,", I help my clients to thrive in their personal and/or professional lives.  I help them with balance, perspective, and resilience.

A willing heart does not stay stagnant while working with me.

You tell me what you are looking for (if you don't know, I'll help you uncover it), I share tools, and then I encourage and inspire and hold you accountable.

Encourage = to give heart.
Inspire = to give breath; to give life.

If you are ready to explore your options with coaching, or think a friend or family member might be ready, call or email me!  I offer a 20-30 minute free exploratory session to all new clients to answer questions and let them see how coaching might work in their lives.
