In the last ToolsLetter, I talked about my new book project. Are you going to be a part of it?
If I Only Had One Chance to Tell You
Encouraging and Inspiring Real Life Stories
(For people like you, by people like you.)
It is going to be 30 stories, from 30 people just like you. So I've had quite a few questions, comments, and conversations about the idea, and would like to share some of that with you. I've included the new information in the revised PDF as well.
**REVISED** "If I Only Had One Chance" submission details (PDF)
I have received the first draft of the first submission for the book! And another is to be hand-delivered tonight! I have quite a few people working on their short story for the book.
And quite a few that are thinking about it pretty hard.
I know that most of you are interested in how it will heal others. (Or you, as you write it - I just talked to Dave. He said that it was very difficult to write, and he wept as he wrote his story because he is so thrilled to be alive to write it!!!)
Or you may be interested in the LEGACY aspect of it. Or being a contributing AUTHOR in an impactful book. Some are looking forward to those things plus including contact information so that others can find them and their business.

FAQ's and OTHER COOL REASONS PEOPLE ARE WRITING:
PROFESSIONAL RESOURCE -
It will be a resource, another tool to help others. I know that my book, Tools of Hope, is not only in counseling and doctor's lobbies, but that it's being used in therapy groups!
SIMPLY TO SUPPORT THIS PROJECT -
I have people who would like to write a story simply because they like the idea. I've also had questions about donating money for someone else to be able to participate-the answer is yes!
ANONYMOUS -
Yes, you may submit an anonymous story. Of course, I would know, but we do not have to put any information about you as the author into the book.
THIRD PARTY -
No it doesn't have to be YOU in the story. We would, though, be interested in how it affected you!
SPANISH VERSION -
Yes, you may submit in Spanish, however, I will also need you to submit the English translation.
TRANSPARENCY -
In my experience, this can have a very powerful effect on others. They know that they are not alone.
FICTIONAL -
Yes, as long as we state that it is fiction at the end.

If you are having any challenges or fears about doing this, AND think that you are being called to do it, call or email me. We'll spend a few minutes working it through. :)
INVESTMENT: As I don't know the length of the book yet (depends on total pages submitted,) I don't have exact costs. I will be asking for a minimum purchase of books per author plus small publishing fee -will be around 20 books, I think. As soon as I get a better idea of how many authors are interested, I'll get you better numbers. If I had to guess, it'll be about $300-$400 investment total - for a book that helps you leave your touch, your message, your LEGACY!

I love making referrals to tools or people who have made a huge difference in my life.
Are you married? Do you want to be married? Are you in a serious relationship? Do I have a great new tool for YOU!!
Recently, Jerry and I "tried something different" when we went to a class offered at our church.
It was called LAUGH YOUR WAY TO A BETTER MARRIAGE.
There were about 40 couples there, the youngest marriage was 2 years and the longest, so far, was over 50. WOW.
What I saw was a lot of people who are serious about making their marriage better. And what I experienced in the class was a way to do that. If you're single, this is great (and hilarious) information that will help you if you are searching.
If you know me personally, or have seen me at work at a workshop, you know that I can be a little on the high strung side. (ya think?!)
Mark is a little like that, too.
What I've learned is, of
course, you can't always please everyone. And, you can still do your best to help
as many people as possible.
As a presenter, he is one of my newest mentors - yes, even though I haven't met him, he is still a mentor. I trust and respect his background, his message, and his delivery is very effective. He also uses props effectively, which, if you've been at my workshop, you KNOW I love that!
As a presenter, I would like to be able to positively impact people
as he impacted Jerry and me.
Mark's humor seems to touch most people in a way that allows for more compassion - both with yourself, and with your partner.
