New Year Marks Tremendous Growth
Dear Friends and Family,

This New Year's, I find myself looking back over the past year and the founding of Next Step Recovery only five years ago. I am amazed at how much our residents and staff have accomplished in this relatively short period of time.

Next Step Recovery has grown from two men's recovery houses to three. We've added an outdoor adventure program, a women's transitional living program in Weaverville and, this past fall, opened a brand new recovery center in downtown Asheville that provides individual counseling and intensive relapse-prevention and family support groups. Whew!

Every step of the way we have worked hard to enhance our programs, step-based support services, and the quality of community life for our residents.

I would like to thank all of you for your support over this past year and since our founding. This life-changing work would not be possible without your support.

I would like to invite you to explore each of our recovery programs, highlighted below, and to remember that each program serves men, women and families who are making heroic efforts every day to build purposeful, dignified lives free from addiction.

I wish each of you a joyful and healthy new year!

Warmly,

Susan

Open Door Recovery Center

Our licensed addictions professionals support long-term recovery by educating clients about the neurobiology of addiction, identifying dysfunctional beliefs and behaviors, and developing healthy coping skills.

In addition to individual therapy, our recovery center runs weekly step-based
groups in the evenings to accommodate busy schedules.

Currently our center offers an intensive relapse-prevention group and two family support groups (one at our offices and one via Skype).

Open Door Recovery Center is a non-residential extension of Next Step Recovery and is open to program residents and non-residents alike. Random alcohol and drug screening is provided for our relapse-prevention groups to ensure the safety of all participants.
