Dear Friends & Families,
We are excited to announce some changes to our Women's Program that will provide our residents with an even stronger foundation for long-term recovery and emotional healing.
New residents will not be allowed to bring their vehicles to Next Step Recovery for the first 30 days. During this transitional period, we ask residents to focus on developing a personal recovery program and adjusting to community living. They should not plan to work, go to school or volunteer for the first 30 days.
Residents will find this transitional period very helpful for getting to know themselves and each other better. They will be supported at all times by our strong recovery community and 24/7 on-site staff supervision.
Our women's programming will include going to AA/NA meetings as a group, participating in daily meditation, in-house 12-step meetings, relapse-prevention and life skills classes, community meal planning and cooking, and practicing 12-step implementation.
Residents are encouraged to take advantage of yoga classes that are offered daily just a block away from our lodge. Daily 12-step meetings are also offered within walking distance of the house.
Our 30-day transitional period builds on the strong foundation that has been laid by the excellent treatment centers from which many of our residents come.
This highly focused time also allows residents to practice living a 12-step program that will serve them well as they expand their lives to include work, school, community service, and friends and family outside their recovery community.
Sincerely, Susan Stader
