Hawk iSolutions: It's a Nice Arrangement
The reasons behind joining a small business incubator are as unique as the entrepreneurs themsleves. After four years in his home basement, Hawk iSolutions Group president John Antone decided to move his full-service information technology company into St. Louis Enterprise Centers - Wellston.
"The Enterprise Centers are a good option for several reasons: The seminars are helpful because they make us look at a range of topics; fellow entrepreneurs have become good clients; and the center allows us to use any of its conference rooms to meet with clients. It's really a nice arrangement," said Antone. |

| A Boost for Small Business Borrowers
St. Louis County Economic Council's innovative small business loan program is boosting lending for entrepreneurs. BOOST, an alternative to the Small Business Administration's (SBA) 504 loan program, offers less restrictive requirements to borrowers seeking financing for the purchase or construction of land, buildings, machinery, and equipment within St. Louis County.
Like the SBA 504 loan program, a borrower typically injects only 10 percent of the total loan amount, its bank lends 50 percent of the total project cost and the Economic Council lends 40 percent. In addition to receiving up to 90 percent financing, borrowers have the option of a variable or fixed rate with no prepayment penalty for the floating rate.
