Letter from the Executive Director
The year 2010 has been a year of Kingdom impact and partnership. God continues to pour out his blessing on the Foundation as a "meeting place" where faithful stewards connect with churches and ministries that are daily bringing people to Christ, discipling believers in their personal walk, and serving communities locally and abroad in the name of Christ. Let me share a few examples of His abundant blessing on the Foundation this year . . .
On August 26, the Foundation made a $1,000 contribution to the radio ministry of New Life 91.9 upon the advice of one of our faithful supporters, taking us over the significant milestone of our "second million to ministry." In fact, as I write this, we have now distributed $2,125,797 to 42 different ministries and churches. What a blessing for the Foundation to be a conduit for such faithful stewardship! A complete listing of the churches and ministries we have served can be found at www.westminsterfoundation.com.
On September 30, we were blessed abundantly when over 300 ministry leaders, volunteers and supporters gathered at our Praise and Celebration Banquet. We praised God for his blessing on so many ministries in the Rock Hill area and celebrated the Kingdom work of all who were there, all who couldn't make it, and all who are daily impacting the Kingdom as part of the body of Christ. In the short time since the banquet, I have learned of several instances in which the banquet was a catalyst for a believer connecting with a ministry for the first time, a ministry idea or effort coming to fruition, or the Kingdom being impacted in some other way. Over 20 ministries were represented at the banquet with 13 of those ministries featured in our Ministry Video shown that evening . To view the Ministry Video or to request a DVD, visit our website www.westminsterfoundation.com.
Thanks for all YOU do in furtherance of God's Kingdom, whether through the Foundation or not. Our partnerships with other ministries would not be possible without the financial and prayer support from those individuals and families we have served. Please contact me or Julie Grider if we can be of assistance. We both wish you a blessed and joyous Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year!

Ministry Highlight
WCCS High School Students Serve the Community
On Thursday, October 28, Westminster Catawba Christian School (WCCS) high school students and teachers participated in the first ever WCCS Community Service Day, taking a day away from classes to serve the Rock Hill community in the name of Christ.
Community needs were met at A Place for Hope, Westminster Park, Children's Attention Home and downtown Rock Hill.
The students were divided into four groups, arranged by senior and Service Initiative President and Founder Matt Coleman. Students in the Beta Club (a social service club) spent the day serving at A Place for Hope off Blackmon Road in Rock Hill, cleaning up several yards and streets, coordinating a food and blanket drive to restock the pantry and helping in the garden. Freshman and sophomores not in Beta Club worked at Westminster Park clearing walking trails, picking up trash, spreading mulch, putting down rocks along drainage areas and clearing out brush to open up views of the Catawba River. Juniors served at the Childrens Attention Home by cleaning windows, pressure washing sidewalks and spreading pine needles. The seniors were separated into four groups to clean different areas of downtown Rock Hill.
This was a great opportunity for the students and faculty to get outside the walls of the school and into the community to share the love of Christ with our neighbors. Plans are in the works for the next service day in January, 2011.
If you would like to suggest a service project or get involved with the WCCS service projects, please contact Sheila Nichols at 328-5460. |

The Foundation
Supports WCCS
Westminster Foundation and Westminster Catawba Christian School (WCCS) are companion ministries that have partnered together frequently to advance Christian education at WCCS. The Foundation and its donors have supported athletics, academics, facilities improvement, extracurricular programs and scholarships at WCCS.
In May, the Foundation Board chose to celebrate its partnership with WCCS by contributing $800 to the Academic Achievement and Christian Character (AACC) Scholarship fund. The AACC Scholarship reflects the WCCS commitment to holistic Christian education, where academic and spiritual development go hand-in-hand. It is awarded each year to a rising senior who has exhibited excellence in both academics and Christian character. The Foundation also contributed $200 towards the recent matched gift campaign for improvements on both campuses of WCCS. |

Donor Advised Funds
How have Westminster Foundation's faithful
supporters made their giving easier and more efficient? How has the Foundation been able to distribute over $2,000,000 to over 40 churches and ministries? The answer to both questions is...The Foundation's donor advised funds. A donor advised fund is a great way to simplify your giving and perhaps save taxes and other costs. You can learn more about donor advised funds by calling Edwin Barnes or by going to our website and clicking on "Donor Advised Fund Fact Sheet." |

The Foundation
and Westminster Towers:
An Ongoing Partnership
The Foundation has been a companion ministry to Westminster Towers, partnering together frequently since the Foundation's inception 5 years ago. This past summer, the Foundation Board chose to honor the relationship between the Foundation and the Towers with a $1,000 gift to the Towers Resident Association. The gift was used to enhance the Towers library with large print books and place a flat-screen television in the Health Center Activity Room. |
