Dear Jewelry Fans,
You know, the best things happen by accident some times. This month's duo, the Rock Candy duo, was one of those things. I was experimenting with glass and I realized that I could make a blob shape with many surfaces and it would reflect light almost like a crystal would. Thus, the soft-shaped glass bead was born. I experimented around a bit more and found that the pastel colors worked best. Since they looked like those clear, hard, tasty rock candies, the Rock Candy duo was born. See it now in the Special Editions.
On a completely different topic, many of you have asked me how to see the latest gdesigns. Since I have been a web-based business, it's a bit hard to see things in person. And face it, jewelry is a visual medium! So I am delighted to announce that I will be frequenting some local craft shows this spring and summer so that you can see and even try on the latest duos and trios from gdesign. The 'where to find gdesign' on the left is a quick guide to where we will be. I will keep that updated with all the places that I am exhibiting. Be sure to drop by. I will have raffles and something special for each show. Should be fun! As always, email me anytime at info@gdesignontheweb.com, I love to hear what you have to say,

For Your Sweet Tooth,
the Rock Candy Bracelet Duo |
|

Just in time for Mother's Day, the Rock Candy Duo. Yummy glass shapes that look just like rock candy. Strung together with sterling silver, these beautiful, pastel glass beads catch the light and reflect their beautiful, pastel colors around your wrist. Turn your wrist this way and that and see how the light catches in the 'rock candy' shapes. Lightweight and easy to wear, this will soon become your favorite bracelet. Pastel pink, blue, amethyst, and green make up the bracelet. The earrings are a clear rock candy which make them versatile and wearable with anything from jeans to office wear.
Perfect for a Mother's Day gift. The different colors represent most birthstones. To see more pictures, click here. | |
Azurite, the natural Earth Day stone
Azurite (AZH-yur-rite), with its blue, blue and malachite green with flecks of brown looks just like the earth. It is almost the perfect Earth Day stone (Earth Day is April 22 this year). It is a copper mineral, produced by weathering of copper ore deposits. It has been mined since ancient times because of the very blue of the stone which was used for blue pigment. Many of the blues in medieval paintings are the blue of azurite.
Azurite is a soft stone and should be kept out of the light and away from sharp objects.
Azurite is the focal point stone in the Spring Collection's The Good Earth.
