Public has high regard for science and scientists. According to the Pew Research Center survey, 70% of the public view that scientists contribute a lot to society's well being; only members of the military and teachers are viewed higher.

Pharmaceutical industries ranked second in Q1 2010 Job Cuts. The pharmaceutical industry announced 26, 165 job cuts this year, but is 46 percent less than the 48,885 jobs cut compared to same period in 2009.
