Chemists at Heart
Chemist at HeartLooking for some Chemical Bonds! In celebration of Valentine 2010, we received many stories from chemists on how they met their special someone through chemistry. Below are a few selected stories submitted.

From Rebekah Mitterko:
For the lab section, we were told to form teams for a semester-long research project.  Immediately, Steve and I pointed to each other and said "let's be lab partners".  Spending all that time researching gave us a lot of 'bonding' time... In May 2009, he proposed and we will be married this October!  Happy Valentines Day Stephen! I love you with all my heart!

From Howard Peters:
... She caught that hair on fire with her Bunsen burner... I can't imagine my life without her...

From Jennifer Bachman:
... we bonded over nitrogen triiodide and the like at chemistry magic shows the SAACS chapter performed...

From Matt Tiza:
... As often is the case with different chemical species, we quickly found out that together we produced a vigorous reaction...

From Wendell Wilkerson:
I was asked to tutor a nursing student in chemistry. That nursing student became my wife 46 years ago.  "Better living through chemistry".
