Here we go:
1) NEW BABY WOODROSE RELEASE AND TOUR Last week saw the reissue of BABY WOODROSE's "Love Comes Down". The "lost" BABY WOODROSE album was originally released in 2006 and followed the band's successful 2004 break-through effort "Money For Soul". At the time "Love Comes Down" was only released in Scandinavia and not many people outside the Nordic contries ever got the chance to hear it as the orgininal release soon fetched steep prices. Now the album is being made available again as LP/CD through Bad Afro Records! The LP edition is limited and includes a bonus 7". There will also be a special tour-edition which will only be sold at the upcoming German concerts. BABY WOODROSE will embark on a German tour later this month, the band's third tour in Germany within the last year. The tour includes a performance at the sold out Psychedelic Network Festival in Würzburg as well as a headlining appearance at the DUSTOWNfestival in Berlin.
2) NEW SIENA ROOT ALBUM AND TOUR Right in time for SIENA ROOT's first tour of Germany since fall 2009 the band will release its first live album! The double-album "Root Jam" (2LP / 2CD) was recorded at a run of three Stockholm concerts earlier this year and boasts 12 tracks spread over 91 minutes running time. Nine guest musicians (including vocalist Sanya) refine the band's sound on this record which is comprised of Hard Rock, Jams, Indian Ragas and even acoustic songs. "Root Jam" serves as a comprehensive overview and introduction to SIENA ROOT's multi-faceted repertoire while showcasing the band's sprawling live show. Check out the album trailer here! SIENA ROOT will tour Germany, Austria and Denmark between 17.11. and 27.11. and will return for a comprehensive European tour in March 2012.
3) NEW FUZZ MANTA ALBUM AND TOUR This has been a busy year for Copenhagen based Heavy Hippie Hard Rockers FUZZ MANTA. Supporting their new album "Opus II" (LP / CD) which was released in March the band has toured Germany twice in 2011 (including shows with BABY WOODROSE and the late HIGHWAY CHILD) followed by a Danish tour in late spring 2011. Returning from the tours FUZZ MANTA entered the recording studio to record their third album. Signed by German label Bilocation Records the band will issue the new album "Vortex Memplex" (LP / CD) at the end of the year -- mere nine months after the release of the excellently received second album "Opus II" (compare album reviews by Soda Shop and Doommantia)! Meanwhile the quartet's fourth tour this year is coming up in December including supports for PREMONITION 13 in Berlin and Copenhagen! Check out the album and tour trailer here!
4) NEW CHERRY CHOKE ALBUM Last month the English Garage rock band CHERRY CHOKE released its second album "A Night in the arms of Venus" (LP / CD) on Elektrohasch Records. In nine songs the trio around Mathew Bathancourt (ex-JOSIAH) refines its songwriting towards genuine 60s psychedelic rock without compromising on its raw and unpolished Garage sound. Check out the single "Evol" and the nine-minute heavy psych track "Dominos" to get a taste of the album! CHERRY CHOKE will be back on the road in 2012.
5) NEW BAND IN ROSTER: REVEREND SHINE SNAKE OIL CO. Here is a new band in our roster that thoroughly blows our minds: REVEREND SHINE SNAKE OIL CO.'s concerts resemble both a life-affirming church mass and a sweaty 'n' sexy Voodo-Blues-Celebration. The Copenhagen based band which centers around New York-raised singer Claudius Pratt fuses timeless American traditions such as Blues, Gospel, Jazz, Folk, Swing and Minstrel Shows reducing them to the essential core of Blues and Rock 'n' Roll: Sex, soul and magic! Words however fail to describe the live experience so be advised to check out some live videos and let your fantasy do the rest: Berlin 2011, Copenhagen 2009, Copenhagen Jazz Festival or performing on the street in Berlin 2010! The band will tour Germany in April 2012!
6) NEW BAND IN ROSTER: OKTA LOGUE We are pleased to welcome OKTA LOGUE from Darmstadt (GER) to our roster! Young and audacious, the band has come up with a modern take on Pink Floyd-ish Prog and Psych Rock fusing it with contemporary influences in the veins of Portugal.The Man and Tame Impala. OKTA LOGUE will release its third album on German quality label Hazelwood Vinyl Plastics in spring 2012 followed by extensive gigging.
