I recently returned from doing a Keynote address titled "Are You Living Your Dream?" for over 125 small business owners who distribute Hotsy Industrial Cleaning Systems for the C Tech Corporation.

I have taken out the key quotes/stats/ideas and made them into a short easy to read summary for my February Newsletter.

If you are living your dream, the one you had when you started your business, you know the boat, second home, plenty of free time and family time, own a valuable business that will allow you to retire, etc.,  then no need to take the 4 minutes to review this. But, if you are still not there (like 95% of business owners), then I think you'll find this quick read interesting.

Are You Living Your Dream?
by Rick Wallace

Below is a series of outtakes/quotes/statistics from a Keynote address I made to over 125 small business owners in Las Vegas, Nevada earlier this month that really resonated with those in attendance.

My audience included small business owners and their spouses who were distributors of industrial cleaning equipment. The topic of the talk was: Are you living your Dream? Maybe some lies are holding you back?

The dream I am referring to is the original dream most business owners have when they start their business. It could be financial independence, extra free time to be with the family, buying a boat, having a second home, volunteering in the community, or vacations.  Whatever the motive or "powerful reason, the question is, are you living it? How about retirement, what's your exit strategy?

The following is meant to help owners find that elusive "want to" and that original motive so that they can make changes and take action to improve their business. It has little to do with "how to", but the "how to" is all around you, that's the easy part. (I'm working on an e-book that I will offer free in the next 30 days that will add to the database of "how to", but for now let's work on the "want to" - that's the hard part.)

What was your original dream when you started or bought your business? You need to re kindle it to ensure you make the changes you need to live that dream.
