SalesPad Extended Purchasing Functionality |

SalesPad offers complete purchasing functionality to make the creation and management of your purchasing processes more efficient and cost effective.
In August, as part of the Did You Know? Series, we presented a video about some of the new purchasing functionality in SalesPad. The video covers basic purchasing -- accessing vendor information, opening existing POs, and creating new POs. This month, we will cover the added functionality of the Purchasing Advisor, Purchased Line Editor, and Inventory Analysis modules.
Purchasing Advisor
Purchasing Advisor allows users to view demand throughout the system, from backordered items or inventory items with quantity that fall below their set reorder point. Users can also create purchase plans and generate POs.
Items with purchasing demand display in the Demand Summary Grid, and details of selected items appear in the Demand Detail grid.
The Purchase Planner section allows users to select multiple items for purchasing. Once purchase plan items are selected, a PO is created and can then be printed or emailed to the vendor.
Purchased Line Editor
The Purchased Line Editor allows users to easily create changes to sales orders and purchase orders with linked line items. From a single screen, users with proper security can view all linked documents and line items. Users can search by Sales Document, Purchase Order, Sales Batch, or Vendor and can easily view and edit quantity ordered, Unit Price, requested Ship Date, and Ship To Address on each document. Changes are written to both the sales document and the purchase order without having to unlink and relink each item on every order.
Inventory Analysis
Inventory Analysis allows users to easily view inventory movement across a range of items within a single window.
Users can search by Item Class or Generic Description and filter their view even further on Item Number or Item Description. Average item unit sales are displayed across multiple time windows including 1, 2, 6 and 12 month averages. The view also displays number of months' supply available based on current average usage.
In addition, the Inventory Analysis function makes it easy for the user to update item reorder points without ever having to open the Item Card in Dynamics GP. Reorder points may be updated for individual items or for a range of selected items.
