Hampton Roads Planning District Commission Fills Regional Emergency Management Position
Chesapeake, VA - Hampton Roads Planning District Commission Executive Director, Dwight Farmer today announced the appointment of Curtis C. Brown to the position of Emergency Management Administrator for the HRPDC.
Mr. Brown brings considerable experience in homeland security and emergency preparedness operations. His skill-set gives him the tools required to lead the region in the arenas of FEMA preparedness grants, homeland defense, emergency communications, private sector coordination and public health preparedness.
Mr. Brown previously worked for the Committee on Homeland Security, U.S. House of Representatives where he served as the lead staff expert for an extensive portfolio of homeland security issues, working with the highest levels of public officials. He has also served as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor in the Office of Commonwealth Preparedness providing oversight of all-hazards preparedness including Continuity of Operation Plans, training and performance measures of 115 state agencies.
