The Hampton Roads Planning District Commission Elects Officers
Chesapeake, VA - The Hampton Roads Planning District Commission elected officers during its Annual Meeting on October 20, 2011. All officers were re-elected for a successive term which will run through October 2012. The newly slated officers are:
Chairperson Stan D. Clark
Member, Board of Supervisors
Isle of Wight County
Vice-Chair Thomas G. Shepperd
Member, Board of Supervisors
York County
Treasurer James O. McReynolds
County Administrator
York County
Secretary Dwight L. Farmer
HRPDC Executive Director
"We are privileged to have Chair Clark, Vice-Chair Shepperd and Treasurer McReynolds continue as HRPDC officers," said Dwight Farmer, HRPDC Executive Director. "Chair Clark's wisdom, dedication and guidance will provide a steady hand as the HRPDC works with our jurisdictions to address regional issues."
About the HRPDC:
The HRPDC is one of 21 Planning District Commissions in the Commonwealth of Virginia. It serves as a resource of technical expertise to its member local governments and provides assistance on local and regional issues pertaining to Economics, Physical and Environmental Planning, Transportation and Homeland Security. The HRPDC is a 45-member commission that represents over 1.6 million people in the 16 localities of Hampton Roads, Virginia. Membership is based upon jurisdiction population with at least two representatives from each jurisdiction. The jurisdictions include the cities of Chesapeake, Franklin, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Poquoson, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Virginia Beach and Williamsburg, and the counties of Gloucester, Isle of Wight, James City, Southampton, Surry, and York.
