Greetings!

14For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. 15For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received a spirit of adoption. When we cry, "Abba! Father!" 16 it is that very Spirit bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God,   Romans 8:14-16

Most of us grew up singing the old hymn, "Blessed Assurance Jesus is mine. Oh what a foretaste of glory divine!"  One of the fundamental beliefs of Methodism is that we can know that we are saved.

  • What does it mean to be assured of our salvation?  Does it mean that we "feel" like we are saved?  Does it mean that we "know" we are saved?
  • Are you assured of your salvation?
    • If you are, what difference does assurance make in your life?
    • If you are not, why not?
  • In Romans, Paul says that all who are led by the Spirit are children of God. How can you tell if the Spirit is leading you?
  • What evidence (or assurance!) do you have that you are being led by the Spirit?
  • What would a spirit of adoption "feel" like?

Just a few thoughts as we prepare to worship this Sunday!

See you Sunday!

(re)NEW(ed) Sunday School Class

Your Bible The Study Begins

Teachers: Pastor Sherill and Rocky Harnen

Join us Sunday mornings in the Fellowship Hall for a (re)NEW(ed) Sunday School class.  Rocky Harnen's adult class, which has been studying the Andy Griffith and Beverly Hillbillies bible studies, is expanding and exploring new areas.  We will begin this week on a 7-week study of the Bible. Join us as we explore how the Bible came to be, ways to study the Bible, and the place of the Bible in our lives.

If you've never really studied the Bible, this is a great place to start. If you have been studying the Bible for years, this is a great place to share, to learn, and to grow.

Join us this Sunday as we get started!

**ATTENTION ALL SENIOR HIGH YOUTH**

Generation Change is an entertaining, informative youth bible study by well-know money management expert Dave Ramsey with appearances by Toby Mac, Michael W. Smith, and Jason & Daniel of Hawk Nelson. This study shows today's students how money really works, how God views money, and how to grow into responsible young adults who are ready to embrace all of God's blessings.

The Study will be during the Sunday School hour! All SENIOR HIGH youth are invited to participate in this fun, entertaining and informative study and we strongly encourage you to invite your friends! All participating youth will receive a Generation Change T-shirt.

For more information see Greta Ayers, Sherry Newton or Miland Taylor.
