Greetings!
Thank you to everyone who contributed to last week's
Consecration Sunday! I especially
want to thank Tammy Harbin for sharing her musical gifts with us in the
traditional service and all the members or our WONDERFUL praise band for their
gifts. We were also blessed by Joe
Estes and his wonderful message.
It was a great day to worship our Lord.
If you have not yet turned in your stewardship card, please bring it this Sunday! This week, we will turn our attention away from issues of
money and toward those beliefs that are the foundation of Methodism. My new sermon series "On the Threshold
of Faith" is inspired by a book written by Donald Haynes which lifts up the
fundamental beliefs of Methodists. Each week, we will reflect on a fundamental belief of the people called
Methodist. We will begin by exploring an important and strong belief
that underlies everything we say and do: God's grace is for everyone! And our scripture comes from the first letter to Timothy:
First of all, then, I
urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for
everyone, 2for kings and all who are in high positions, so that we
may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and dignity. 3This
is right and is acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4who
desires everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5For
there is one God; there is also one mediator between God and humankind, Christ
Jesus, himself human, 6who gave himself a ransom for all-this was
attested at the right time. 1
Timothy 2:1-6
-
Does knowing that God desires everyone to be
saved give you hope? Why?
- Does desire to save all make a different in who
you pray for? Does it make a difference in how you live your life?
- If God desires all to be saved, what should we,
Christ's Church, do?
- If God desires all to be saved, what changes do
you need to make in your own life?
See you Sunday!

New Life Sunday Night Youth Begins Sunday, September 19th For 6th - 12th grades Fellowship Hall Optional Meal and Hang Out 5:30 - 6:15 pm Bible Study 6:15 - 7:30 pm
Building a relationship with God doesn't require a contractor's license or an architect's degree, but it does require work on our part. Having the right tools and blueprint will help you construct a solid relationship with our Holy Savior. In truth, building that relationship strong is a lifelong process - we're always "under construction."This year youth will be paying a nominal price for meals on Sunday Nights: $1.00 for pizza, cheeseburger, or nachos and $.50 for soda. The meal is optional. We will meet in the Fellowship Hall until further notice.
Youth Fall Schedule Sunday Night UMYF 5:30 - 7:30 pm in Fellowship Hall On Wednesday Nights youth will assist with Children's Ministry at 6:30 pm
Youth Center Renovations The youth center is currently under renovation. If you, your family, or small group would like to adopt one of the rooms at the youth center, see Milanda for details. The adoption may include labor, money or both. We are currently in desperate need of painters!
Youth Fundraiser The Youth are selling God's Creation Wall Calendars as a fundraiser for the youth center. The calendars have beautiful photographs of God's Creation with NIV Scripture Verses each week. Cost: $10. Great Christmas gifts for friends, family, parents, grandparents, neighbors, co-workers, teachers, coaches, and volunteers! Contact Milanda to purchase or visit our table in the Narthex on Sunday Mornings to see a sample. |

Mark Your Calendars!
Bible Studies for all ages, every Wednesday Night at 6:30 pm.
Join us this Wednesday as we begin a journey through the Bible! For the next 13 weeks, we will explore the book of Genesis reflecting on the meaning of creation, sin and sacrifice. We'll reflect on the wonderful adventures of Abraham, Jacob and Joseph. And we'll learn what it means to be God's people who are blessed to be a blessing. Bring your Bible and a willingness to learn and join us in our journey. |

NEW LIFE SHEPHERD MINISTRY
We need each of you to be praying to find out if God is leading you into this ministry.
The Shepherd Ministry will be making phone calls, visiting, and sending cards to members of our church family.
Each member will receive a list of approximately 8 to 10 families for which you will be responsible for keeping in touch with calls, visits, and/or sending cards.
If God leads, please join us for blessings you won't believe.
