Greetings!
What a wonderful blessing we received from our children last
Sunday. A big thank you to Wendy
Self and Heather Saint for their leadership and to our children for reminding
us of the holiness of God! I look
forward to the next time they will lead us in worship! We were also blessed as we welcomed Brenda Mattox to the New
Life Church family! This week, we continue our series on "Enough" this week
focusing on the importance of generosity and our scripture lesson comes from
the first letter to Timothy:
17 As for the rich in this
world, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on uncertain
riches but on God who richly furnishes us with everything to enjoy. 18 They are to do good, to
be rich in good deeds, liberal and generous, 19 thus laying up for themselves a good
foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of the life which is life
indeed. 1 Timothy 6:17-19
Join us this Sunday as we explore how
to set our hearts on certain riches by giving generously. See you Sunday!

Scripture Lesson for September 19th:
1 Timothy 6:17-19
"Defined by Generosity" |
Enough: Discovering Joy Through Simplicity and Generosity Personal Goals and Commitment What defines your life? Is it wealth? Belongings? Faith? Many of us live with a scarcity mentality, worried that we must gather and hoard as much as possible, saving for some imagined "rainy day". Or we focus on self-gratification. But the Bible promises both God's blessings and joy for those who choose to live another way. During today's service, we will take action to change our lives by setting five specific personal goals to work toward over the next year. We invite you to complete a "Personal Goals and Commitment" card and place it in your Bible for your personal reference in the coming year. One of these five commitments is your estimate of giving for the coming year. This week, you will be receiving an estimate of giving commitment card in the mail. On a practical level, we ask our members to turn in estimate of giving cards each year so that our Finance Committee is able to set an accurate ministry budget for the coming year. This allows us to make the most of every dollar given to the church. On a personal level, the commitment card is an opportunity for you to spend time in prayer and reflection, considering what offering you would make to God through our church in the coming year. Please be watching for the mailing; then fill out the card and bring it with you to worship next Sunday.

New Life Sunday Night Youth Begins Sunday, September 19th For 6th - 12th grades Fellowship Hall Optional Meal and Hang Out 5:30 - 6:15 pm Bible Study 6:15 - 7:30 pm
Building a relationship with God doesn't require a contractor's license or an architect's degree, but it does require work on our part. Having the right tools and blueprint will help you construct a solid relationship with our Holy Savior. In truth, building that relationship strong is a lifelong process - we're always "under construction."This year youth will be paying a nominal price for meals on Sunday Nights: $1.00 for pizza, cheeseburger, or nachos and $.50 for soda. The meal is optional. We will meet in the Fellowship Hall until further notice.
Youth Fall Schedule Sunday Night UMYF 5:30 - 7:30 pm in Fellowship Hall On Wednesday Nights youth will assist with Children's Ministry at 6:30 pm
Youth Center Renovations The youth center is currently under renovation. If you, your family, or small group would like to adopt one of the rooms at the youth center, see Milanda for details. The adoption may include labor, money or both. We are currently in desperate need of painters!
Youth Fundraiser The Youth are selling God's Creation Wall Calendars as a fundraiser for the youth center. The calendars have beautiful photographs of God's Creation with NIV Scripture Verses each week. Cost: $10. Great Christmas gifts for friends, family, parents, grandparents, neighbors, co-workers, teachers, coaches, and volunteers! Contact Milanda to purchase or visit our table in the Narthex on Sunday Mornings to see a sample.
