Greetings!
As you'll see below, we have LOTS going on in the next few weeks. Please keep all our activities in your prayers. We especially need your help and support for the yard sale and car wash this weekend. The yard sale proceeds will go towards repairs in the Youth Center (House on the Corner) and the candle sale and car wash proceeds will go towards the mission trip and summer camps.
We have several families impacted by last Saturday's tornado. Please keep Sheila Simpson, Veronica Harden and Shirley Jackson's daughter, Dawn, in your prayers as they deal with the aftermath of the storm. I have been working with Chris Herbert at Genesis and Terry Bentley at Guntersville 1st to help Sheila Simpson's family. They have lost both their home and their car was damaged. I have committed to helping them replace the broken glass in their car so they can drive it. We will take a special offering this Sunday to assist them.
This Sunday, I am preaching at Moody UMC for their homecoming (and to baptize my friends' baby!) and Milanda Taylor will bring the message at New Life. She has lots of great surprises for you--drama and the children singing! You won't want to miss!

NEW LIFE SHEPHERD MINISTRY
In March 2010, we will begin our Shepherd Ministry with zeal.
We need each of you to be praying to find out if God is leading you into this ministry.
The Shepherd Ministry will be making phone calls, visiting, and sending cards to members of our church family.
Each member will receive a list of approximately 8 to 10 families for which you will be responsible for keeping in touch with calls, visits, and/or sending cards.
If God leads, please join us for blessings you won't believe.

Youth Mission Trip
June 20-25, 2010
Joe Rush Center for Urban Mission
Birmingham, Alabama
Urban Ministry is an inner-city mission agency of the United Methodist Church. Our work will be exterior house painting for the low-income elderly and disabled in inner-city Birmingham. We will stay at the dorm at Walnut Grove UMC in Midfield, AL. For more information, see http://www.urban-ministry.com/Rush.html
Cost: $250 ($125 deposit due May 10th; $125 balance due June 7th). Please make checks payable to New Life UMC with Youth Mission Trip noted. Now accepting donations toward scholarships!
Ages: rising 7th graders - 12 graders
We reserved 20 spaces for this mission trip. For every 6 youth, an adult can attend free! We must take one chaperone for every 6 youth. Depending on interest, we may be able to reserve more spaces. Please email milanda@nehp.netto reserve your spot.

*CANDLES FOR SALE*
Looking for a great Mother's Day or Teacher Appreciation Gift??
Starting Sunday, April 25th, The Youth will begin selling candles as a fundraiser for their summer mission trip. These are 12 oz. jar candles and will be available in spring bouquet scents and some have inspirational bible verses on the labels.
The cost for the candles are $12, and the youth will make 50% of all sales!!!

May 2nd Sunday Night Youth Unknown Destination: The location is a secret, but read Matthew 25:31-46 for a clue! We will meet at the Youth Center at 5:30 and dinner will be at 7 pm after we return.
May 8th: Youth in Mission at Albertville Food Bank. We will meet at the youth center Saturday morning, May 8th at 6:45 am. Eat breakfast at home and bring money for lunch.

PRIMETIMER'S YARD SALE Date: Friday, April 30th & Saturday, May 1st

 Have you been spring cleaning and now have unwanted items? DONATE THEM TO THE PRIMETIMER'S YARD SALE!!!
The PrimeTimer's Sunday School Class will hold a YARD SALE on Friday, April 30th & Saturday, May 1st. They are asking for EVERYONE to clean out their attics, basements and closets to help make this Yard Sale a huge success! All Items are welcome except Clothes (unless it it TRULY UNIQUE!). A Trailer will be at the church for you to put your donations into (similar to the set up from previous yard sales).
Early too Early for you??? Don't worry! They will also be selling Sausage & Ham Biscuits as well as Orange Juice & Coffee.
Be Sure to donate and come out to shop!! All proceeds will be used towards repairs at the Youth Building! SEE YOU THERE!!!! |
| Fashion Show and Brunch at Trinity UMC
FUN & FELLOWSHIP, MAY 8, 2010
Just a reminder that the Trinity UMC will be having a Fashion Show and Brunch on Saturday, May 8th, starting at 8:30 am. Reservations are need to attend (see information below). Childcare is available and can be indicated when reservations are mailed. Please note that there will be no charge for childcare, just please remember to bring your child a drink and snack.
