Greetings!
This Sunday is a special day in the life of the church. On Laity Sunday, we celebrate the many gifts of our membership! Our Speaker this year will be Rocky Harnen. He will be preaching from Matthew 26: 31-35, 69-75. I'm looking forward to hearing what Rocky has to share with us this Sunday!
We have a lot going on at New Life these days, so be sure and read through this newsletter and mark your calendar for all our special events. A couple that I would like to point out to you are:
Celebration Sunday Luncheon Oct 25th 12:30 p.m.
Church Conference Meeting Nov 8th 10:15 a.m.
Charge Conference Meeting Nov 15th 3:00 p.m.
Please continue to keep our Natural Church Development Team in your prayers as we continue to work on discerning God's vision for New Life. We hope to have a statement to share with you at the Church Conference Meeting on November 8th!
Also keep our Lay Leadership Team in your prayers as we complete the nominations of leadership for 2010. And please continue to prayerfully consider your financial commitment to New Life for 2010.
I believe that God has great plans for us in the coming year and we need your support through your prayers, your presence, your gifts, your service, and your witness!
See you on Sunday!

YOUTH ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Due to Fall Break, the youth will NOT be having regularly scheduled Sunday Night Youth Fellowship on Sunday October 18th.
YOUTH FUNDRAISING: For all youth fundraising events, youth will earn "points" based on their participation in fundraisers. Additionally, adults who volunteer to chair a fundraising event will receive "points" for the youth of their choice. Each point will be worth money towards youth retreats. Adults who want to chair a fundraiser, contact Milanda.
BEHOLD YOUTH RETREAT: We have 28 youth registered to attend BEHOLD, January 16-18th at Camp Sumatanga. Remaining balance per person is $100 and is due to Milanda by December 27th.
JR HIGH RETREAT: Middle School Youth, grades 6-8, will be attending the Jr. High Retreat: A Simple Life November 6-8, 2009 at the Springville Camp and Conference Center. Cost is $95 if paid in full by Sunday October 21st and $100 after October 21st. If you need a scholarship, please let Milanda know ASAP!
PUPPET TEAM: On September 26th some of the youth attended a puppet workshop at Flint River Baptist Church in Hazel Green. The puppet team is excited by the great new ideas we got from the workshop. We want to develop our blacklight puppetry because we feel it will really reach the youth better. We will be doing a fundraiser to buy more black light puppets and lighting but these are expensive. So be looking for our fundraiser. |
The DAR School is still looking for adults willing to mentor or tutor students. Please prayerfully consider whether you can spare 30 minutes to an hour each week to make a difference in the life of a child. Please contact Diana Turner for more information at turnerd@marshallk12.org |
