THE JOURNEY CONCLUDES!
And it is still not too late to join in the journey with us!
This week we conclude our six-week church-wide study designed to help us discern God's vision for New Life UMC. We want EVERYONE to be involved and it is not too late! If you are not currently part of a small group Bible study, we are asking you to participate in one during the final week! In addition to joining an on-going class, Pastor Sherill will teach a class on Sunday Nights at 5:30 p.m in the Fellowship Hall.
Please continue to keep New Life and God's vision for our ministry in your prayers and get ready to enter into God's Promised Land for New Life!

Greetings!
Please be sure and check out our new youth and children's sections in the newsletter. Even if you do not have a youth or a child, take a moment to see the opportunities for you to help share the gospel with a new generation!!
As we conclude our journey toward God's Promised Land for New Life, we hear these words from an ancient hymn describing the work of Christ on our behalf:
1 If then there is any encouragement in Christ, any consolation from love, any sharing in the Spirit, any compassion and sympathy, 2 make my joy complete: be of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. 3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility regard others as better than yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not to your own interests, but to the interests of others. 5 Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God as something to be exploited, 7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, being born in human likeness. And being found in human form, 8 he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death- even death on a cross. 9 Therefore God also highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:1-11
-
What are the characteristics of life lived in relationship with Jesus Christ?
-
Why did God exalt Jesus?
-
How can a church glorify God?
-
How can your life glorify God?
-
Paul wrote these words from a prison cell. Why was Paul thankful?
-
Have you seen the self-emptying love of Jesus in your life? In our church?
-
What ministries would you expect a church defined by the self-emptying love of Jesus to emphasize? See you on Sunday!
