Excel Manufacturing: Asset Tracking Case Study
SimplyRFiD took a journey south to El Paso, TX this past month to help Excel Manufacturing install their new Nox RFID asset tracking and labeling system. Excel Manufacturing ships thousands of Airmen Battle Uniforms to the Air Force every month, and wanted to combine their required RFID labels with a system that would improve their asset tracking and surveillance capabilities.
Prior to implementing SimplyRFiD's asset tracking system, Excel  Manufacturing depended on pen and paper to keep track of their assets, producing nothing more than contextless data. With the Nox system, Excel can now track every item that passes through their hands and even view video footage of the item. Because of the strategic placement of readers throughout the process, it's easy to see where items might be going missing or where things have started to slow.

Affordable, Easy-to-use, DoD compliant UID
Shipping something extra important or expensive to the DoD? You'll probably need UID tags, in addition the the RFID tags you already use. Currently, the DoD requires UID tags, or Unique Idenitifcation tags, on all mission critical items or items that cost more than $5000. The tags must be attached directly to the object and must last as long as the to which its attached.

RFID Printer Settings
If you are using a Zebra R110Xi RFID printer and TX-2, TC-1 or TS-1 RFID labels, be sure to set your RFID read power and write power to low. If the write power and read power is set too high your printer may improperly encode your RFID labels.
Consult your printer manual, or call SimplyRFiD at 1(800) 909-5524 for help changing these settings.
