Greetings!
What a difference a year makes. It was only a year ago that I wrote my first note on the SCRAP newsletter. I'd like to thank you all for all the support, advice and help throughout this past year and I look forward to working with you to make SCRAP even better. As always, please let me know how we can improve your SCRAP experience.
This month at SCRAP, we're hosting several fun new events that I'd love to have you join us for. We have our fun Shag Rug workshop and our Scrappy Terrariums workshop. Sign up soon to reserve your spot. We were recently featured on Yahoo's webseries, Plugged In with Alicia Silverstone, as the site of a creative reuse birdhouse challenge. I thought it was a lot of fun and want to invite all of you to join us in our second creative reuse birdhouse challenge on July 21st. And we're putting out a call for any 12-16 year olds interested in creative reuse. Our SCRAP Camp: Mosaic Mashup will be later this month and participants will get a week-long experience in 3D mosaic sculptures.
And we're ramping up for our Hats Off to Teachers party and materials give-away on August 11th. We're collecting office and arts supplies at SCRAP so that we can give them away to our educators, please donate materials to support our teachers. If you are a teacher, please save the date. If you know any SF Bay Area teachers, please let them know about it.
I hope to see you at SCRAP soon,
Shuai Chen
