Greetings!
April was a busy month for SCRAP, and May is looking to be busy as well!
We have two fun and creative workshops planned: May Flowers with Dorothy Yuki and Small SCRAP Sculptures with Remi Rubel. We're participating in the Tree of Life art exhibition and music recital at the Music Art Studio as a fundraising and outreach event.
May also brings the amazing Maker Faire, where SCRAP will be participating to help children of all ages create SCRAPpy robots and their extraterrestrial worlds out of CD's, buttons and findings. We love participating in these outreach events and introducing new people to all our resources while inspiring creativity.
Don't forget, May 12th is Mothers Day. SCRAP offers several ways for you to celebrate Mothers Day: bring your mom to our May Flowers workshop to spend some quality time with her creating flowers out of SCRAP materials, give your mom a SCRAP gift certificate so she can find fun materials to craft with, or create something amazing to give to your mom using SCRAP materials! And don't forget, greeting cards are 20 cents at SCRAP...
Lastly, SCRAP's board is hosting our strategic planning retreat this month. I'm looking forward to tackling important issues and stewarding SCRAP's continual growth while also setting goals for our future. As always, I would love to hear what you think are important issues, please feel free to call or email me with comments and suggestions.
May your May be SCRAP-ful,
Shuai Chen
