SCRAP Board Report
| A big shout out to the SCRAP elders who served on the board for many years! Over the past six months, we transitioned to a new model of board service. The elders watched over the change and in November they resigned to make room for growth. Many thanks to Claire Pilcher, Louise Sampson, Joan von Briesen, and Nina Youkelson for their support and trust in the board's leadership. New members are making big contributions. Larisa Dwonczyk, from The Art Institute of California, is heading up the 2nd annual board retreat for strategic planning. Michael Bongiorni, Materials Donations Manager of Goodwill, stepped up to chair the fundraising committee. Becky Barton, a Human Resource Professional brought more clarity to SCRAPs personnel policy. Cathy Huang, CPA and partner at Lindquist, von Husen & Joyce LLP, put a brilliant new light on our financials. Serving on a non-profit board is a great way to give back to your community. Many thanks to the incredible people who volunteer many hours to serve SCRAP.

Greetings!
Happy National Craft Month! I bet you didn't know that March is National Craft Month, well let's change that. This National Craft Month, I implore you to celebrate the crafts that you love with your friends and loved ones by hosting a crafting party. Here's how you do it:
1. Identify everyone in your circle who you think might enjoy a crafting party and send them an invite along with a doodle poll to pick the best time and place for everyone to gather together 2. Assemble some supplies: Hot glue guns, glue sticks, scissors, die cutters, sewing machines, etc 3. Converge on SCRAP to gather all the materials you need 4. Go to your selected crafting party location and let the creative juices flow! Have fun, be imaginative, explore new techniques! 5. Send us some photos, we want to see what you created. If you're not up to organizing a whole crafting event, perhaps you might enjoy one of our workshops that we have planned for you: Drop in Jewelry Making every Monday 12 pm to 2 pm, Make Books with Kids on March 17th with CJ Grossman and SCRAP Animals on March 24th with Courtney Cerruti. We're also kicking off our WE SCRAP! Workshops for Educators program on April 7th with Classroom Fabric Banners and Quilts, taught by amazing educators Patricia Christensen and Rebekah Werth. Please sign up for our workshops here! Happy Crafting,
