November Board Report
Happy Holidays from the SCRAP Board.
We welcomed seven new board members to our fall board retreat and training on October 22nd. We're building a great team and learning on the job. Our commitment is to uphold SCRAP's mission and guarantee the resources the organization needs to serve the community. That's where you come in . . .

'Tis the season for giving, so watch your mail box, email, and social networks for SCRAP's fundraising appeal. Our goal for next year is to increase the amount of materials and supplies for the Teacher Giveaways, divert more material from going to landfill, and show up at more community events. We need your help!! Please give generously to SCRAP.

Volunteer, donate, join our Facebook page . . . get involved at SCRAP!

November is probably my favorite month of the year. There's a briskness in the air, and as Thanksgiving nears, I remember everything that I am thankful for.

I'm thankful for such an amazing SCRAP community, who have welcomed me with open arms. I'm thankful for our loyal SCRAP staff, who have stuck by SCRAP through thick and thin, and for the new ones who have joined me in this wonderful new adventure. I'm thankful for all our generous volunteers, who have given us countless hours of their time--we really can't do this without you. And most important, I'm thankful for the opportunity to serve teachers, artists and nonprofits through SCRAP. SCRAP has such a powerful mission, one that encompasses everything that I care about--education, the arts and the environment--and I am honored to be a part of it.

At SCRAP this month, we are continuing our Drop-In Jewelry Making Workshops on Mondays from noon to 2, Fabric Team rolling on Tuesdays from 2 to 5 and are hosting SF Environment sponsored SFUSD Field Trips on Wednesdays. If you are or know a San Francisco teacher, please let them know about our teacher give-aways, which happen first Saturdays 1-4. We also have an amazing artist, Harriet Estel Berman, teaching her workshop Coming
Unglued: Learn How to Rivet and Screw on November 19th and a Jeff Rahuba Turkeycouple of fun outreach events planned. We will be closed for the Thanksgiving Holiday Thursday, November 24th and we'll see you back on Monday November 28th.

Thankfully yours,

Shuai Chen
