End of 2010 Tax Cycle Nears! |
Important Taxpayer Information |
The 2010 tax year continues to be a challenging year for collections in Lake County; by Illinois State Statutes we are currently sending out final notices and ordering publications for some 7800 taxpayers that have not paid their 2010 tax bill in full. Although that sounds like a lot of notices, please keep in mind that this is out of over 264,000 tax bills that were originally mailed and is consistent with prior year's records. |

Please remember that at this annual sale we do not sell the house, we sell the unpaid taxes. The homeowner has three years to redeem these taxes, plus interest and costs through the Lake County Clerk's Office (847-377-2404). |
Tax Savings Account |
Is it difficult to come up with your tax payments in June and September?
You can establish a savings account at many local banks that can then be used to pay your Lake County Taxes. You can build up balances at your own pace, earn interest and most important enjoy the peace of mind that the money will be there when the taxes are due. If interested, this is the time of year this account needs to begin. For a complete list of Lake County banks and locations, please check our website at www.lakecountyil.gov/treasurer/payments/atlocalbanks. |
