 2009 2nd Installment Due Date is September 3rd, 2010  

Important Reminder to Taxpayers

Labor Day weekend is right around the corner, and before settling in for a long weekend, please remember to pay your 2009 2nd installment property tax payment. 
 
To avoid additional interest (1 1/2% per month), payment must be received or US Postmarked by September 3rd. Payments can be made in person at the Lake County Treasurer's office, at most local banks or on line by e-check or credit card (additional fee is charged to user) at

Even Though We Haven't Finished The 2009 Tax Cycle,
The 2010 Tax Cycle Has Begun!
Several of the township assessors have already turned in their work and the 2010 Assessment Notices have been mailed.  Due to the economic conditions, this is the year that many of us should see a reduction in the assessments.  If you still feel that the assessment does not reflect the current conditions, each taxpayer has 30 days from the date on the notice to appeal that assessment.  More information on that process can be obtained at www.lakecountyil.gov/assessor.
