FloodFlood of 1972 - Interview Day

Saturday,

February 25 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
(stop by anytime during that time)}
RCPL Downtown (Lobby)

It has been nearly forty years since the Black Hills experienced its most deadly and damaging flood in recorded history. On June 9, 1972, 238 people lost their lives, 3,057 were injured and over $160 million dollars in damage were caused by the flood.

For some, the memories of that day will stay with them forever, but for others, they weren't here to experience it. The Rapid City Public Library and the Friends of the Parks would like to invite those with
memories of the flood to share them on
February 25th, 2012 at the downtown library. Stop by the lobby any time between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.

Your memories will be added to an online digital archive that provides a priceless piece of local history. Visit our website and click on Online Collections to view our Flood Wiki page and to see other interviews and read people's stories of that night and the days following.
