Fine Forgiveness Week - November 13-19

Take care of your fines and help your
community members!
Bring in 1 lb. of food (approximately 1 can of food) to have $5.00 of your fines waived! Food collected will be donated to the Black Hills Food Bank.
If you wish to participate, bring 1 lb. of non-perishable food items to RCPL Downtown anytime that week.
If you need to check your fines or other account information, visit our website at www.rapidcitylibrary.org and click on "My Account". Log-in using your library card number and password. A notice will be posted if you currently have fines on your account.
The last Fine Forgiveness Week was held in September 2008. 2000+ lbs. of food were donated to the community and $10,000 dollars of fines were forgiven!

History from a Family Perspective
Thursday, November 10 at 6:30 p.m. at RCPL Downtown
Donovin Sprague, descendant of Crazy Horse and Hump. Donovin is a professor at Black Hills State University part-time and the University of Iowa - ¾ time. He plays flute, makes bows, does beadwork, quillwork, hide work and will share historic photos.Funded by the SD Humanities Council, an affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities

Join us for a presentation on the progress of the He Sapa Black Hills Center for the Northern Plains Indian Arts and Performance. It will be given by Randy Ross, the Project Manager. www.attatribal.com Lunch provided by the Friends of the Library. Register for lunch by Monday the 14th at noon.

Bully Blends Coffee & Tea
Come join us for a relaxed discussion about the book,
"Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet" by Jamie Ford.
This is the first meeting of the book club that will meet every three months at a favorite local establishment. A different book will be selected to discuss at each meeting. Copies of the chosen book will be available for check out at either library. A librarian from the Rapid City Public Library will lead the discussions.

The Rapid City Public Library has served the Rapid City area since 1879 and now offers two library locations. Both offer print and electronic resources for adults, young adults and children as well as computers and internet access and a variety of programs and events. In early 2008, USA Today selected the Rapid City Public Library downtown as one of the nations 10 greatest places to "Find a Nook and Read a Book."
