We are proud to announce that wireless printing is now available at RCPL Downtown! Those of you who our WiFi at the library can now enjoy the ability to print directly from your laptops to our printers!

Clicking the wireless printing icon on our homepage will get you started. The process is simple and instructions can be found below the wireless printing icon on the right side of our page.Of course our helpful staff is always available to answer any questions you have.

The Rapid City Public Library is your resource for all things deep science in South Dakota. Want to know more about the deep underground lab? Visit our website to find the S/DUSEL wiki. It includes information on the experiments being conducted in the old Homestake Mine in Lead, South Dakota as well as a collection of news articles, information on the history of the mine, information about Dr. Ray Davis Jr. and info about the development of the lab. The purpose of the wiki is to increase public awareness and community involvement. Visit www.rapidcitylibrary.org and click "Deep Underground Lab".

SRPTeen & Adult Summer Reading Program  

We want you to participate in our Summer Reading Program too!


Teens

Submit 3 book reviews to our Facebook page. Paper entry forms are available for those unable to post to Facebook. Drawings and Poems will also be accepted. Prizes will include a NOOK eBook reader with Wi-Fi, an Apple iPod shuffle and an MP3 player! Teens in grades 7-12 are eligible to participate. Must submit by August 31st.

Join us to share what you've been reading this summer and hear about what others have been reading. Lunch is provided by the Friends of the Library. If you wish to have a lunch, please call (605-394-4171) or register online by noon on Monday, July 18.

"Dragon Stories" is an adventure for the whole family. It is a puppet storytelling fantasy about Zed The Dragon and his best friend Estelle The Mouse.
It is an interactive show that encourages audience participation.

Family Adventure Scavenger Hunt 

 

Be sure to pick up your Family Adventure Scavenger Hunt Booklet (or download one) It's a great way to keep your family busy this summer!
The 13 questions in our scavenger hunt will have your family scouring the city in search of answers! Return completed booklets to either library by August 31st to collect a prize and be entered into a drawing for larger prizes!

The Rapid City Public Library has served the Rapid City area since 1879 and now offers two library locations.  Both offer print and electronic resources for adults, young adults and children as well as computers and internet access and a variety of programs and events.  In early 2008, USA Today selected the Rapid City Public Library downtown as one of the nations 10 greatest places to "Find a Nook and Read a Book."
