News and Events Calendar
Highlights for March
March 8 to March 14 is Teen Tech Week at libraries across the nation, an initiative to promote the competent and ethical use of technology. RCPL will offer a four-day "Build A Robot" robotics workshop for teens, and a look at the hot new video games - a presentation by the gaming experts at Play N Trade.
For adults, we offer a chance to meet celebrated Western author Dan O'Brien at March's Sunday Selection Book Discussion program. Dan will give an author talk and answer questions, and there will be a discussion of his book "Buffalo for the Broken Heart." This book is the One Book South Dakota selection for 2009.
For kids, we team up with the SDSM&T Palentology Club and Museum of Geology, who will present a program called "They're Amazing, They're Fossils and They're NOT Dinosaurs" about ancient mammals that roamed the earth and the fossils they left behind. The library thanks the Paleontology Club, the Museum of Geology and the SDSM&T Casting Company for the wonderful fossil castings available for view in the stairway display at the downtown library.
For more information on dates, times and locations on all our March programs and events, see our calendar below. |
